SEC-JC Pep Rally: October 12th, 2012

Missouri’s State Capital is rolling out the red carpet in celebration of the Mizzou SEC game against the Alabama Crimson Tide. The Jefferson City Convention & Visitors Bureau, along with Bud Light, KRCG, Jeff 104.1, Fletcher Kia of Jefferson City, EcoWater, Jefferson City Parks, Recreation and Forestry and the Cole County Chapter-Mizzou Alumni Association, will throw an SEC-JC Pep Rally in historic downtown Jefferson City on Friday, October 12 from 4 to 9 pm. The Rally will also support the Lincoln Blue Tigers and their homecoming game against University of Nebraska- Kearney. MU and Lincoln fans alike can look forward to a warm welcome from their Jefferson City hosts as all area sports fans gather to celebrate this extraordinary event. Guests will enjoy the pep rally atmosphere with sports celebrities, pep bands, cheerleaders, mascots and more in a street party unrivaled in the entire MU community.

Guests that are over 21 years old may purchase a cup and wristband that allows them to buy and consume alcohol at a number of outdoor bars and to carry their beverage around the designated festival area. Cafes and restaurants will be open as well as the unique galleries, boutiques and shops that make up historic downtown Jefferson City. An array of street performers and live musicians will line the streets, creating a vibrant festival atmosphere providing entertainment for all ages. The Pep Rally will begin on the main stage at Madison at 5:30 pm. Entertainment throughout the historic Downtown District will be from 4 pm to 9 pm.
