Jefferson City’s central location and excellent facilities provide the ideal site for your next athletic event. The city is host to numerous baseball and softball tournaments, as well as soccer tournaments, basketball tournaments, and hockey tournaments.  Jefferson City also offers events at some Missouri’s outdoor sports venues like the Missouri River, Jefferson City parks and the Missouri River Pedestrian/Bicycle bridge.

In order to attract a wide variety of sporting event opportunities to the Capital City, the Jefferson City Convention and Visitors Bureau created two support groups – the Athletic Events Committee (AEC) and the Jefferson City Outdoors Group.  The Athletic Events Committee is an invaluable group of local residents that volunteers their time and energy for signature sporting events in Jefferson City such as state track and state cross country.  The Jefferson City Outdoors Group is a collection of outdoor enthusiasts that helps with the planning of new sporting events, specifically those that involve our city’s natural resources.

A few of the many sporting events held in the capital city include the State Track and Field Championships, State Cross Country Championships, Capital City Catfish Tournament and Missouri State Championship Criterium Cycling Races.
